DEtoxing - Food-Grade Diatomaceous Earth

I'm finding very little support for my new attempt to remove toxins: food-grade diatomaceous earth. Seems the closest is this new bentonite + psyllium craze. But not far off, since bentonite has claims exactly the same as the crushed up diatoms. And bentonite cleanses have been around forever.

Here's a very nice page, although it's specific for candida.

"What is a candida detox?

A candida detox consists of a colon detox cleanse to get rid of any old waste matter and toxins that make the bowel unhealthy and discourage the growth of the good bacteria. This normally consists of psyllium husk seed powder, Bentonite clay and caprylic acid.

  • Psyllium ...
  • Bentonite, in powder or liquid form, attracts toxins and adsorbs them, preventing them getting into the blood stream. It can help prevent die off reactions from the release of candida toxins as it is killed off. Use 1 -2 tablespoons for each drink.
  • Liquid caprylic acid [or coconut oil]...
  • Garlic....
  • Probiotics ..."
"Candida Detox Diet

A Candida diet is vital part of the treatment. Sugar feeds yeast so is the most important thing to exclude as well as products containing it. In fact, it’s good to avoid all refined carbohydrates such as white flour products. In many cases it is helpful to exclude gluten containing products such as bread and pasta as well."

Perchlorate in the Water

I was looking up reasons my thyroid is so messed up and attacking me. My world is very very small when I think about what is safe in food and water and air to be around. I knew there was a reason not to eat winter lettuce. This was the reason: there is perchlorate, rocket fuel, in the water supply. The contaminated water is used for crops and like 97% of all cow's milk, mother's milk, and winter lettuce has perchlorate in it.

These plants concentrate perchlorate: tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, spinach, citrus, melons and more.

This is old news, but it's being suppressed by those releasing rocket fuel into the water supply and not wanting to clean it up. Never mind that their children and families are and will suffer terribly from this indulgence.

"Ammonium perchlorate is widely used throughout the aerospace, munitions, and pyrotechnics industries as a primary ingredient in solid rocket and missile propellants, fireworks, and explosive charges. Following the Cold War, the U.S. Department of Defense was left with roughly 140 million pounds of ammonium perchlorate to dispose of between 1993 and 2005. This highly soluble salt has tainted soils and water sources all over the world, and is believed to be an endocrine disrupter, adversely affecting the growth patterns of a fetus or a young child, according to recent medical studies."

There are 6 states without a perchlorate presence as of 2003:

Mad Health

I wanted to change this blog to Mad Health. But someone else took it on March 4, 2009 to complain about their insurance not paying a bill. Who hasn't had that happen? But this would have been a good choice, since I am so angry about how ill I am and what poisons along the way have led me to this very very unhealthy state. I no longer give a damn what's beyond the horizon. It's bleak. No matter what I learn there are new, and BIG, things to learn about how my health has been messed up.

Not Immune!!!

As I listen to Jared Diamond, author of "Guns, Germs, and Steele", and currently speaking on his new book, "Collapse," I realize I need to comment now on what I can't eat / use-- because it makes me ill.

Rapadura gives me that feeling, that is so very familiar, of wanting to take an internal shower. There is no escape and this is NOT a good food. Note, OTOH, that I had no noticeable reaction to fresh cane juice. Quite yummy!

Vitamin C, mentioned before, a fermented corn product with so many ferments that it might as well be margarine.

Maple sugar-- D. This seemingly clean sweetener surprised me in disappointment.

Raw milk-- at least Organic Pastures milk so far. This can send me into an autoimmune attack spiral ending with a temperature 1-2 degs lower and dry skin the likes of a dehydrated vampire.

Raw cheese-- at leasat Organic Valley's raw sharp cheddar so far. I get depressed and mad minutes after eating this cheese. It appears to be from WI. Can't tell you the problem here either. But I have found myself really pissed off (usually a vitamin B12 deficiency problem) and then laugh at how easy and fast a food did that to me!
